WKT Airport will serve the passengers who have arrived both to Hong Kong, and to China thus it's unusual enough to the traditional international airports which are usually being the property of one country. The construction place is on border of the West Kowloon Cultural District, near to Victoria Harbour.

But you have to love conceptual design, i like the idea of it, but im not sure how a 3 or 5 level airport will work. Plus shurley the roof would not be used in such a way as its a airport, i can't imagine saying "lets go to the airport i heard there are amazing views from the roof". Its all to conceptual at the moment, dont get me wrong i love the idea but how much of the idea will indeed stay in the project?

Drew Mandel Design - 83A Marlborough Ave

Jonathan Segal - The Prospect

Fully sustainable and divorced from the grid by roof-mounted solar panels, the house is well though out for maximising light whilst equally maintaining privacy. Minimal windows above the fence line hide bedrooms from the busy streets outside. The Ground floor is walled in glass, making a bright and airy living dining area that opens out on one side to a pool and the other across a huge glass roof, that lets light into the lower level. Thanks to Jonathan's ability with the local authorities theres a nice high private fence (9ft is well above town planning limits) that affords privacy to this level. Within the confines of said walls, the house is open and flowing, extending the livable space into the private garden and reflecting pool.

Hidden away across the pool form the main living area is a quiet guest wing, where traffic noise is cushioned by the pool's gurgling and water lapping. It has it's own private courtyard sanctuary as well. From here you can look across at the house. Predominantly a large stucco box resting on, detailed and supported by Corten steel. This wall, punctuated by a large brown box that houses the master suites cabinetry, and is flanked by doors to the first floor bedrooms. A huge abstract steel sculpture stamps the front of the building softening the rectangular lines.

For me this is one of the best recent designed house, it uses the space so well, and seems to feel really comfortable will still looking really asethetically pleasing. Also the fact the its so energy efficient with not looking to hippyish

Arquette Lamp by Ilia Potemine

The Arquette table lamp by Ilia Potemine of BEplusHAVE is a simple structure of PVC pipes set in a block of wood for a base. Although this is a form that has been seen many a time, the use of simple materials makes it hold one's attention. Arquette is a smaller version of the earlier Arq.

pyramid House

Suppose Design Office designed a black pyramid in Saijo, Japan, inspired by the earliest house in Japanese architecture called pit dwelling or “tateana jukyo”.

From the first picture it just looks like some crazy house, which seems very unpractical in its design. But then you notice how its built into a hole in the ground, and in this hole there is a whole new space under the house. The sunken level is open and consists of the living, kitchen and dining areas. Although it is a meter below ground level it has a lot of natural light. A timber staircase without handrails leads to the first floor where the master bedroom and bath is found. The master bedroom enjoys a terrace, which is cut into the surface of the pyramid-like construction, allowing natural light into the master bedroom.

A minimal steel staircase leads to the most revealing and striking space of the house, the second floor where the children’s bedroom is located. The walls ascend and converge to meet at the skylight where light vigorously pours through into the rest of the house through the central opening where the staircase is located.

It really is very different to other houses i have seen, It is a new idea of how to use the house as a home. The top area is more of a viewing station to the sky, which sounds weird but some people like that sort of stuff.

Im not sure about any of the other specs like what green technologies it uses or the floor area, but as a new build im sure that would also inspire

Vienna Way Residence

Vienna Way Residence is a family house designed by Marmol Radziner Architecture studio and located in Venice, California. The main feature of the design is a great connection of living spaces to outdoors in order to be up to date with modernist design trends.

I love the overhanging roofings and finish on the walls, at first glance this attracts, but then you look closer at the details. Like the proportions of the wall thickness and the heights of some of the wall. The glass is borderless which is a favourite of mine, it gives it a sleek finish.

The insides are also very tastefully done, the different colour woods of the Surfaces and cupboards all blend in well with the cream of the carpets. Its not all wood and carpet on the other hand, the dinning and entertainment area use stone/marble flooring (i'm not sure, but it looks great). The windows from the inside give a whole different look, you can see all the sections of the house divided by outdoor areas. The glass really brings the outside inwards.

On a whole i'm a massive fan of this design/build, the finish is great and the effort put into making sure everything fits is well worth it. This type of design, the very modern shapes, are far to often reminisant of an empty room when they are on showcase or something. Whilst this feels very much real and homely, which i suppose is good at it actually is.
